Costal Cleanup Drive 2025

The Ethernet Xpress Foundation proudly participated in the 39th annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day in Goa, part of the world’s largest single day volunteer effort dedicated to protecting oceans and waterways. Organized globally by Ocean Conservancy, this initiative brings together volunteers, communities, and organizations to remove ocean trash from beaches and coastal areas while raising awareness about the environmental impact of pollution on marine life and ecosystems. By joining this global movement, the Foundation reinforced its commitment to sustainable oceans, cleaner coastlines, and environmental stewardship.

The cleanup drive was part of the Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar campaign, launched by the Ministry of Earth Sciences in 2022, aimed at raising awareness about marine pollution and promoting sustainable practices to protect oceans and preserve marine ecosystems.

In Collaboration

Ethernet Xpress Foundation proudly joined hands with the CSIR–National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), and the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) in Goa to support the Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar initiative. Together, we contributed to large scale beach cleaning activities at Miramar, reinforcing our shared mission of protecting marine life and preserving Goa’s natural beauty.

Volunteers from schools, colleges, environmental groups, and local communities came together to actively participate in the cleanup drive. Their dedication helped remove marine waste and spread awareness about sustainable waste management. The initiative demonstrated the power of community collaboration and inspired Goans to take collective responsibility for maintaining cleaner, safer beaches.

This event was organized in collaboration with NCPOR (National Centre for Polar & Ocean Research), Panaji Municipal Corporation, and local NGOs such as the TREE Foundation. Supported by the Goa State Climate Change Cell and inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, the drive highlighted how united efforts between research institutions, government agencies, and citizen volunteers can create meaningful environmental impact.
